Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

The Serious Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

List of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
