Recent Particulars Emerge About the Finding of the Reiner Couple's Remains
Recent details have emerged concerning the tragic passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
The Discovery
According to a report citing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the house. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.
Upon entering the home, Romy found her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The person close to the family questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the property, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that time.
Additionally refuted circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "concerned" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
The statement includes accounts of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
Per law enforcement sources, the coroner had still not confirmed at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the state of their bodies suggested they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, about 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had a medical issue and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
