Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
Stateside actor Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his family said in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
