Salah Extends Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a vital match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the team's response remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” Jones added.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. He feels the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
