Severe Precipitation Worsen Situation for Uprooted Gazans, Agencies Warn

Heavy rains over the recent period have worsened the already dire circumstances of the hundreds of thousands of uprooted residents in the region, as reported by relief agencies.

"Horrendous" Weather Poses Serious Risks

A representative detailed the previous night's conditions as "awful", with downpours so severe that as much as 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the terrain.

"These conditions was truly horrendous for the families. The storms were so strong... And the winds were so forceful," noted the representative.

Authorities voice significant worry that young ones residing in makeshift shelters in damp garments will contract hypothermia and additional sicknesses.
