The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Song

The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series by Critical Role, unveiled an exciting opening credits. It features our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at multiple heart-wrenching backstories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, Fjord.

All in all, the opening appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was lost in the music selection.

This sequence employs "Welcome to the Continent", an exceptional composition composed by artist the talented musician. It's a track from the official score of that title, the second one put out by the production company's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I suspect that fans of the sequel series will love its inclusion.

But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by singer-songwriter the artist, was an instant classic for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it only got better when co-founder the performer wrote words to the tune for the series' animated intro in 2018.

Including singing from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was memorable and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign at that point, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you dive into an installment of adventurous fun.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I feel that its tone is a little off.

Naturally, the creators has already said that the animated show will have a few surprises and variations from the original live sessions. An adjusted mood for its opening seems to be one of them.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on the streaming service from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the personas of Critical Role's Campaign 2, the original episodes are accessible on Spotify and YouTube.
