Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the state, producing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.

Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage

Residents reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

During the peak on yesterday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Weather Forecast

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this coming days as a weather pattern continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.

Tomorrow was expected to become the most rainy day, with continued storm activity expected across various areas of both areas.

Medical Alert

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
